When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. Franklin D. Roosevelt said that. Or George Washington, or Lincoln, or someone. FDR also said “judge me by the enemies I have made”.
Jimmy makes a lot of enemies daily, and he’s at the end of his rope. But he’s hanging on.
Join him as he brings you along to get ready for a date; his first since he got out of prison that morning. Along the way he’ll introduce you to a cavalcade of crooked characters, talk you through a smorgasbord of shady schemes, and entice you with a variety of vices. All in the name of love.
Written and performed by Charles Edward Pipe in his first solo show and his Brighton Fringe debut, this romantic crime-comedy explores the optimism inherent to love.
Charles has previously had success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with ‘Five Short Plays Loosely Linked by the Theme of Crime’ (2023) and ‘Four More Short Plays Loosely Linked by the Theme of Crime’ (2024), both of which received five-star reviews.
Lantern Theatre is at 77 St James's Street, Brighton.
